Teaching & academics

The curriculum is notably wide, with popular GCSE choices spanning the sciences, mathematics, French, business studies and creative subjects such as design and technology and drama. At sixth form, where 171 pupils study, the spread continues across business, geography, the sciences, psychology, history and the arts, supported by the option to take BTECs and an EPQ alongside traditional A-levels. The ISI's 'good' rating points to sound teaching, while the 'excellent' personal development judgement suggests pupils are well supported as individuals.

Beyond the classroom

Scholarships in academics, art, design and technology, drama, music and sport reflect the breadth of opportunity on offer beyond the classroom. As a boarding school, daily life extends well past lessons through house activities and a structured approach to time and devices.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A medium-sized C of E boarding and day school with a wide curriculum and strong pastoral credentials, Bloxham suits families wanting all-round development as much as exam results. Means-tested bursaries and a range of scholarships help widen access to fees that reach £26,850 for day pupils and £52,950 for boarders.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.
