School summary

Spanning the full school journey from age two through to eighteen, Claires Court Schools is a mixed independent school in Maidenhead with around 961 pupils. The Independent Schools Inspectorate rated the school good overall in its most recent inspection, while singling out pupils' personal development as excellent. Worth noting, however, is that the school did not meet ISI compliance requirements at that inspection, an area parents may wish to ask about directly. With a sixth form of roughly 150 students, it is a medium-sized setting that keeps children within one community for many years.

Teaching & academics

Entry at 11 is offered, and the school teaches a broad curriculum leading to GCSE and then A-level in the sixth form. Alongside traditional routes, pupils can take BTEC qualifications and the Extended Project Qualification, which suits a range of academic strengths and gives older students options beyond the standard A-level package.

Beyond the classroom

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A long-established all-through school with a strong record on personal development, though the unmet compliance finding is worth a frank conversation before applying.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.

Works alongside your child’s tutor - not instead of them.
