School summary

A full-boarding school for boys aged 12 to 19 in Windsor, Eton College is among the largest of its kind, with around 1,345 pupils and a notably generous pupil-to-teacher ratio of about seven to one. The Independent Schools Inspectorate judged the school excellent for both education and personal development, and confirmed it meets all compliance requirements. Led by head master Mr Simon Henderson, this Church of England school combines academic ambition with a structured approach to boarding life. Its measured mobile phone policy, which starts year 9 boys on a basic Nokia and gradually relaxes access through the school, signals a deliberate stance on focus and balance.

Mobile phone policy

Boys in year 9 begin the school year with a Nokia brick phone. In years 10-11 they have restricted access to their phones during the school day and hand them in overnight. In years 12 and 13 they are not allowed to be on their phones during the working day but keep them on them overnight.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

An academically powerful boys' boarding school where strong results meet a thoughtful, age-staged approach to growing up. Boarding fees reach up to £63,297 a year, with scholarships offering a route in for the most able.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.

Works alongside your child’s tutor - not instead of them.
