Set in the Oxfordshire countryside near Chipping Norton, Kingham Hill is a small, mixed boarding and day school of around 290 pupils with a distinctly Protestant evangelical Christian character. Its scale is one of its defining features: a pupil-to-teacher ratio of roughly eight to one means pupils are far from anonymous, and the school's most recent ISI inspection rated both the quality of education and personal development as excellent. It is worth noting, however, that the same inspection found the school did not meet all of its compliance requirements, a point parents may wish to ask about directly. Mobile phone policy
Pupil use of mobile phones is not permitted during the working day (8.30am to 5pm) and devices must be stored in the storage/charging units provided in the boarding/day houses. In certain circumstances, such as an international boarder needing to contact family in their home country, a pupil may be given permission to use their own mobile device during the school day but permission to do so must be sought from their house parent.
