Set in Milton, near Derby, Repton Prep is an independent, mixed school with a Christian character and around 380 pupils, placing it firmly among the smaller schools of its kind. That intimate scale is reflected in a pupil-to-teacher ratio of about 8 to 1, well below what families would expect in larger settings, allowing staff to know children well. Boarding is offered alongside day places, and the school supports a notable proportion of pupils with special educational needs, at close to 17 per cent. Under the leadership of Mrs Vicky Harding, it is inspected by the ISI.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A small, all-rounder prep with boarding and an unusually low teacher ratio. Means-tested bursaries from Year 3 and a wide scholarship offer help broaden access to fees that climb steeply with age and boarding.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.
