School summary

The clue is in the name at The National Mathematics and Science College, a small independent school in Coventry built around the STEM disciplines. Founded in 2011 and led by Principal Dr Andy Kemp, it is unusual in its focus: of its 157 pupils, 125 are in the sixth form, and the curriculum is shaped firmly around mathematics and the sciences. Boarding is offered alongside day places, and a pupil-to-teacher ratio of around eight means small, closely taught classes. The college suits academically driven students who already know their interests lie in mathematics, the sciences or related fields.

Where every mark matters.

Places are limited and demand is high, so exam performance is what sets candidates apart. Passmate turns the months ahead into ten focused minutes a day on the exact topics this school tests.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A specialist sixth-form college for the mathematically and scientifically minded, where small classes and high A-level outcomes go hand in hand. Best suited to ambitious students with a clear STEM direction.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.

Works alongside your child’s tutor - not instead of them.
