School summary

Founded in 1934, Westminster Tutors is a small independent school in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, with just 34 pupils, all of them in the sixth form. The most striking feature is the pupil-to-teacher ratio of roughly one to one, which makes this closer to individual tuition than to a conventional classroom setting. Led by Principal Sean Doherty and inspected by the ISI, it offers a highly personalised route through A-levels for a tightly focused group of older students.

Where every mark matters.

Places are limited and demand is high, so exam performance is what sets candidates apart. Passmate turns the months ahead into ten focused minutes a day on the exact topics this school tests.

Teaching & academics

Teaching is built entirely around A-levels, with results showing 36% of entries graded A*-A and 61% reaching A*-B. The near one-to-one staffing means lessons can be closely tailored to each individual, an approach that suits students who thrive with concentrated attention rather than a large peer group.

Watch Passmate decide how to teach.

Answer as a child would. Left: what they see. Right: what it learns about them.

A boutique sixth-form college where the scale is the point: tiny numbers and an almost personal tutor for every pupil.

That’s where Passmate comes in. Tutoring is the most effective thing in a child’s preparation - a well-tutored child can outperform the vast majority of their peers. Passmate works alongside your tutor, not instead of them: it learns how your child thinks, finds the gaps, and shows the tutor exactly where to spend each session - so the limited time you have lands on what actually decides a place.

Works alongside your child’s tutor - not instead of them.
