Tracing its roots to 1652, Colfe's is one of the longer-established independent schools in Greenwich, now educating around 870 boys and girls from age 11 through to the sixth form. The Independent Schools Inspectorate rated it excellent for both education and personal development at its most recent inspection, and judged that it met all compliance requirements. With a pupil-to-teacher ratio of about 20 and a notably high proportion of pupils receiving SEN support, it is a large school that pays attention to individual needs as well as academic ambition.

Teaching & academics
Results sit at a solid level rather than a rarefied one: 79 percent of GCSE grades fall in the 9-7 range, while at A-level 60 percent reach A*-A and 87 percent A*-B. The sciences and mathematics are clearly strengths, with Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology among the most popular A-level choices alongside Economics, History and English Literature. Beyond standard GCSEs and A-levels, the school offers BTEC qualifications and the EPQ, giving pupils some flexibility in how they study.

Mobile phones will be confiscated if seen on site before 3.40pm and a third confiscation will result in a detention. At junior school, phones must be switched off and handed in to the office on arrival, collected at end of day
